STEP 1 - HAIR WASH
Gently massage into completely wet hair. Rinse well with warm water. For best results, follow with Scotch Porter Nourish & Repair Hair Conditioner and/or Moisture Rich Leave-In Hair Conditioner and Smoothing Hair Balm.
Only wash your hair with a sulfate-free shampoo, since shampoos with sulfates leave your hair coarse, dry and frizzy. Gents with coarse hair should limit hair washing to no more than once per week to avoid robbing your hair of moisture. If you have fine or oily hair, wash your hair no more than once every 5 days, or else it will look very sad and frizzy. Men of all hair types: feel free to condition your hair up to two times per week, in place of shampooing so often.
STEP 2 - HAIR CONDITIONER
Work a dollop thoroughly into wet hair, paying special attention to the ends. Leave in for two to five minutes, then rinse well with warm water. For best results, follow with Scotch Porter Moisture Rich Leave-In Hair Conditioner and Smoothing Hair Balm.
After rinsing the conditioner from your hair, partially dry it. Here’s how:
- Squeeze excess water from your hair.
- Use an old cotton t-shirt or microfiber cloth and squeeze firmly and gently (don’t rub!) to remove excess water. NEVER dry your hair with a towel. EVER. The rough surfaces of towels snag hair and cause unnecessary frizz. Why be so cruel to your hair?
STEP 3 - LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER
Apply generously to damp hair. Gently massage into hair and leave in. For best results, follow with Scotch Porter Smoothing Hair Balm and Smooth & Shine Hair Serum.
For hair that is severely dry or damaged due to hair type or environment, apply leave-in after conditioning or conditioner washing hair for an extra boost of moisturization. Applying a leave-in, at bedtime, and wrapping hair with a headwrap or cap will take your hair’s moisture level to 100.
STEP 4 - HAIR BALM
Gently massage a small amount into damp hair and scalp. Style, comb or brush your hair in your desired style. You’re now ready to take on the world.
Always apply Hair Balm to slightly damp hair and brush, comb or style while hair is still slightly damp. Apply Hair Balm daily. Daily use of our Hair Balm will not result in build-up and dull-looking hair.
STEP 5 - HAIR SERUM
Smooth a few pumps on damp hair after styling or after combing/brushing. For best results, use after Scotch Porter Nourish & Repair Hair Conditioner or Moisture-Rich Leave-In Hair Conditioner and Smoothing Hair Balm.
Hair Serums are good for anyone who wants to seal in the moisture that they've already added to their hair, add deliberate shine, assist in detangling, and to provide protection against heat. Thick, coarse hair is notorious for being really dry and difficult to manage. Apply hair serum to damp hair after applying hair conditioner and/or hair balm.
