What does self-care mean to you and the ones you love?

For me, self-care allows me to nurture my mind, body, and spirit and is a non-negotiable in my life.  Reading, exercise, wellness, mindfulness, and energy healing allow me to have a happy and fulfilled personal life and successful businesses.  I've instilled the importance of self-care in my two sons, as well as other men in my life, as the foundation for a truly happy life.

What does self-care mean to you and the ones you love?

Our modern-day world is an orchestra of pings, clicks, and swooshes vying for our attention, making life full of options and exhaustion. Because of this and more, self-care is paramount for remembering, experiencing, and nurturing the desires of our own unique soul. Pampering is usually a self-care gateway, providing pleasure to our senses, but most importantly easing the body and mind for receiving deeper healing. I’m always urging the men I love to integrate some form of self-care in their lives, like doing a meditative shower, so they can indulge in their limitless worth as a human being and not solely a human doing. Plus, self-care is a business task that will elevate any career field.

What does self-care mean to you and the ones you love?

Self-care is sooo so important and as cliché, as it may sound, you can’t take care of anyone or much of anything unless you take care of yourself.  I love that self-care and a soft life has been a thing in recent years.  It reminds people to take care of themselves or reassures them that taking care of themselves is valid.  To the men in my life, I love telling them about self-care things especially if they have beards. I tell them, “Make sure that beard looks luscious, it’s on your face!”

What does self-care mean to you and the ones you love?

Self-care is a preservation to me. Preservation of the mind and body. If we aren’t ok internally then we can’t be ok for our loved ones. I encourage my husband to take his necessary quiet time to meditate and we’ve even introduced meditation to our children.

What does self-care mean to you and the ones you love?

Self-care is essential and necessary for me because it helps me maintain my MESS. I realize that no matter what, there will be a MESS in life, and it will be chaotic or overwhelming at times, but you need to insert self-care into the mix. I encourage men, my son, my partner, and my nephews to insert a self-care regimen in their daily, weekly, or monthly routines because it is necessary for their mental health.
